Tina Puri is the Founder and Program Director of ThinkRoot Young Leaders, a Wellness Educator and Coach, and a Senior Peer Counselor for the cities of Fremont, Union City, and Newark. She brings more than 22 years of experience as a software professional together with extensive work in wellness education, youth development, and community leadership.
Her work with young people began through years of involvement in schools and community programs while her children were growing up. About 15 years ago, a personal health challenge led her into a deeper exploration of wellness, mindfulness, and the mind-body connection, gradually reshaping the direction of her work.
Since then, Tina has founded and led student well-being initiatives across elementary, middle, and high-school settings, including stress-management, yoga, and gratitude programs. She has mentored students through HOSA – Future Health Professionals, speech and debate across Fremont Unified School District, Stanford Challenge Success, and Scout programs.
Since 2019, Tina has also worked with adults and seniors through group programs, online sessions, and individual wellness coaching, including a weekly wellness group serving 40–45 seniors.
She co-founded Rewired to Inspire with Fremont high-school students, a four-year intergenerational initiative recognized by Tri-City Voice and Congressman Michael M. Honda.
ThinkRoot brings together her systems-thinking background, wellness education, and experience working across generations to help young people build the awareness, resilience, and judgment to meet life well.
“Life taught me that the skills we need most are often the ones we learn too late — how to know ourselves, master our minds, and live with purpose. ThinkRoot grew from a desire to give young people those tools earlier, while they are still becoming who they will be.”
